Our firm was contracted by Gourdough's Public House in November 2017 to provide public relations services for its San Antonio launch in February 2018. The company had an established brand and two locations in Austin.

Based on Gourdough's exemplary reputation and uncommon amount of national media coverage, our firm elected to leverage the brand's enormous presence on cable channels such as The Travel Channel, The Food Network, and the Discovery Channel to attract loyal fans and new guests to the grand opening. Our campaign included publicity, social media, and outreach. We focused on incoming travelers from the East and West coasts, who had familiarity with the brand, San Antonio residents who lived and worked within a 10-mile radius of the Riverwalk, and large, well-organized groups such as military and medical personnel and teachers.

We messaged the opening and the products through traditional media, social media content and ads, radio ads, and internal organization outreach. In addition, post-opening we turned our attention to the brand's wide array of eye-catching menu items.

The grand opening was a resounding success. Prior to the grand opening, we hosted a series of 4 soft openings, featuring educators, military, nurses, and civic leaders. We averaged 75 guests per event. The grand opening was even more successful, as we hosted over 200 guests in our first 30 minutes of business. We also executed a river boat parade featuring the Antonian H.S. marching band.

Media coverage related to the grand opening totaled $123,839 in media value. Post-opening, we have continued our publicity and social media campaigns, focusing on brand culture, exclusive menu items and the launch of their new menu products. Since the grand opening we have grown social engagement by 22%, added over 700 new, qualified fans to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (combined), and earned an additional $220,000 in earned media.
