Summary
In 2012, CEO of the Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, Chris Stafford, contracted Sammis | Ochoa Public Relations Agency to entirely take over the media and community outreach aspect of their San Antonio haunted house attraction. To fulfill the need to connect with the community's youth in an innovative way, Sammis | Ochoa birthed the concept that would later become Don't Be a Monster, an anti-bullying non-profit program that brings anti-bullying education to students from first grade through grade ten.
After 7 years of consistently successful PR campaigns in the San Antonio market, Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group contracted Sammis|Ochoa to expand public relations services for additional markets. The expansion of services saw the agency take on all PR services for the famously known House of Torment in Austin, Texas, as well as all PR services for the opening of their newest attraction, 13th Floor Haunted House in Houston, Texas.
Results
Coverage for the attraction has landed the 13th Floor brand in many national, regional and local publications including the Travel Channel, Thrillist, Popsugar, and countless local and regional television news channels. Tactics implemented have ranged over the years from celebrity visits and influencer marketing to local presentations and visiting news studios all over the state of Texas.
The success of the campaigns has shown year over year increases in the amount of traffic to the attractions and an overall increase in brand awareness across the state of Texas.
