So it’s moving day. I can’t escape moving recently, but life goes as it goes, does it not?
As I type, a small team is loading boxes and furniture onto dollies, destined for storage.
So as it is, I am the last person to walk the grounds of Sammis|Ochoa, in it’s current state.
This is true irony, as I’ve spent the least amount of time here over the past two years. But I will close it down.
Here for two years, but downtown for three.
Pretty well done for a company that started with a $120 and faith.
I’ll miss this era of business. It was a little Wild West. A little Dot Com. It felt expansive.
I fear the next era will be more fixed, as if we’re settling in for the long part of the journey. Maybe less Wild West, more OK Corral.
And the view. Young professionals in my midst, daily. Innovation everywhere. So invigorating for an oldie like me. I’m U2, they’re Imagine Dragons – are they even “cool” anymore? I’m so out of it.
So we march forward.
Another headquarters will arrive. A few of our companions on this journey will exit. And a new journey will arise.
I pray for the same joy there that we’ve experienced here.
So just one last look.
What a view.
Cheers.
